Sample Selection for Quality Assurance

Upon arrival at our Newport News facility, samples are taken from each of the newly arrived product lots for quality assurance inspection.

The various products are first inspected for proper closing of master cases and inner cartons or bags, correct labelling, date code and plant numbers, and net weight. Subsequently, our inspectors go to work checking for defects including dehydration, color, texture, glaze, trimming, etc. They also perform bacteria checks on the product. All inspection results are sent immediately to the freezer plant operators in Iceland.
