ICELANDIC® GROUP PREMIERES NEW BOOTH AT INTERNATIONAL BOSTON SEAFOOD SHOW



NEWPORT NEWS, VA, MARCH 29, 2010 – Icelandic® USA, one of North America’s leading seafood companies and a member of the Icelandic® Group, unveiled a new booth at the International Boston Seafood Show, on March 14-16. The International Boston Seafood Show is the largest seafood trade event in North America. Icelandic’s two-story booth (#805) was adjacent to the main hall entrance and encompassed 1,200 square feet on the first floor, and 300 square feet of meeting space on the second floor. 
 
Icelandic® Design Inspiration
The Icelandic® Marketing Team looked to the country of Iceland for design inspiration. Iceland has few trees and even fewer forests, but those that do exist consist mostly of natural birch, which served as the inspiration for the color and texture. Unique rock formations and cliffs cover the landscape in Iceland. In order to bring a similar look and texture, a giant rock wall was erected as the visual focal point at the front of the booth. On both left and right sides, large sheets of semi-transparent acrylic represented ice and waterfalls, for which Iceland is famous. “We definitely wanted a booth that was organic and modern in appearance, and had a true connection with the country of Iceland. It also had to be first-class, and I believe we accomplished all of those goals,” stated Jim Papadakis, Director of Marketing for Icelandic®.

Booth Marketing Activities
Key marketing activities in the booth included sampling Icelandic’s two new products, sustainable Arctic Char from Iceland and Yuengling® Battered Shrimp, both of which are part of Icelandic’s new premium retail seafood line, which was full display. A brand new Icelandic® Group corporate video premiered in the booth. The video traces Icelandic® Group’s global operations; from harvesting the fish, to value-added processing and serving Icelandic® seafood in restaurants and retail stores.  Show attendees that visited the Icelandic® booth had an opportunity to register for a trip for two to Iceland sponsored by www.icelandnaturally.com.  “The booth was a phenomenal success for the entire Group. Each year we come to Boston not only to meet with current and potential customers, but we also come to support the seafood industry and showcase our strengths, and as a team we definitely succeeded,” stated Dan Murphy, Executive Vice President of Icelandic® USA.
