Companies interested in selling products under the Icelandic Seafood brand in markets where licenses are available can contact Icelandic Trademark Holding.

Through special agreements, license holders of ITH have the right to use the Icelandic trademark in markets as specified in the licensing agreement. License holders operate based on the guiding principles of ITH and have access to the company's marketing materials.

Conditions that Icelandic Trademark Holding (ITH) licensees must meet:

  • Production of marine products and other related products from Iceland's jurisdiction should always be free of potentially harmful additives. All production along the entire value chain must be subject to sustainability and social regulations and produced as harmoniously as possible with considerations for the environment.
  • All producers and their products must comply with appropriate standards and regulations.
  • Manufacturers must comply with ITH trademark guidelines.
  • Licensees must carry out regular, strict quality control measures and submit reports to the ITH. The entire supply chain must also be transparent and receptive to periodic inspections by ITH or third parties.
  • All packaging materials must be as environmentally friendly as possible. Parties must strive to minimize the environmental footprint throughout the entire value chain.
